20 Million Minds Foundation
In their own words, the mission of the 20 Million Minds Foundation is “to grow access and success by eliminating unnecessary hurdles to affordability in higher education.” They support open educational resources that provide alternatives to overly (sometimes prohibitively) pricy college textbooks, and they leverage Web 2.0 technologies to provide “interactive, intelligent, and immersive learning environments.” Occasionally, they also develop original content, which is why they came to Tenfold in 2012. Working with a small team of educators, content experts, writers and editors, 20 Million Minds developed an online textbook that explores the vastnesses of copyright, patent, and trademark law. As development progressed, they realized the utility of distilling core content into a graphically-intensive multimedia shorthand. Offering little more than basic content, a goal, and a lot of trust, they gave us that assignment. In exchange, we gave them a lucid, entertaining, and powerful summation of U.S. patent law: runtime, 1.31 minutes.
Tenfold was a perfect match for 20 Million Minds. We have a relatively small staff and lots of initiatives that require our constant attention, so it’s imperative that the people we entrust to help us fulfill our mission can hit the ground running. From our first conversation with Tenfold’s principals, it was clear that they would. They understood our needs and were immediately able to help us refine them to match our budget, timeframe, and ultimate goals. They are smart, highly skilled and inventive—a pleasure to work with.Dean FlorezPresident and CEO, 20 Million Minds Foundation, California Senator - Retired
